iPhoneography > Projects > Always Get a Window Seat

I've always loved gazing out of the window on train journeys and I wanted to use my iPhone to capture some abstract snapshots of the scenes I passed. I love the colours, shapes and textures that whizz past but I didn't want too many details to be recognisable to add a dreamlike quality, so I opted for a slow shutter speed to blur each moment.

All photos were taken, edited and turned into video on my iPhone 3Gs during the train journey. I used SlowShutter to capture the shots (with a setting of 2 secs). I then processed them in Adobe Photoshop Express and PictureShow. The video was made with ReelDirector and I recorded the muted sounds in the train carriage to add to the sense of movement and journey.

"We shall not cease from exploration.
And the end of all our exploring
will be to arrive where we started
and know the place for the first time."

T S Eliot, Little Gidding (No. 4 of 'Four Quartets')
