I read a lot of photography magazines, am signed up to lots of forums, visit lots of websites and follow a lot of Twitter feeds and have found that the quality of advice varies enormously. One real gem that I have found is PhotographyBB, a free PDF magazine catering for beginners and experienced photographers alike. There have been 49 editions so far full of helpful and interesting articles.

Just My Type: A book about fonts by Simon Garfield


This was a Christmas present from my Mum and Dad who are obviously well aware of my geeky tendencies. It's actually a lot less geeky than it sounds, though, and would appeal to anyone who has an interest in design and an eye for stylish (or ugly) type and what it says about us.

The Art of iPhoneography by Stephanie C Roberts


I was really looking forward to getting my hands on this book and it didn't disappoint. It's a really quick read, but there's enough in there to inspire you and get the creative juices flowing.
